The art of remain busy!
Do you feel like you don’t have enough time in a day? Ever felt like the thought of workplace remains in your brain after you leave workplace or work desk at day end. Are you in a vacation with thought of works creeping up in your mind?
If any of the above is true, you have mastered the art of remaining busy.
Why we are so busy?
Is the number of chores increased from the ancient time? Is the day becoming shorter over the years? Is the complexity of the work significantly increased?
No! The reason we remain so busy is: Fractional attention span.
Disclaimer: This is not a productivity recipe. This my wild thought why in general people remain busy. Also, I wrote only the things I have tried and get benefitted. If it works for you, great! Otherwise, you have to find your own style of managing things.
I am a software engineer. One of the most important aspects of my job is to be connected over internet. A lot of apps, devices constantly taking away my precious attention. When it rings or buzzes, there is something going on that needs attention. The burning question is, does really everything need attention right away? Except for a few life threatening conditions, most of the notifications we get over internet can wait.
What actually happens, most of the time people works with split attention. When the work is interrupted, you need more time to get into the zone to be productive again. We are scrambling over…
